With the pandemic in its second year, 2021 certainly had its ups and downs.

However, one silver lining was that people rediscovered their love of books and reading. In fact, from North America to Asia, we’re reading more books than ever before.

Editing and proofreading company Global English Editing have summed world reading habits in 2021 in their new infographic.

They found quite a few surprising facts.

Did you know that romance is the most popular genre worldwide? Finland, Poland, and Estonia are Europe’s biggest bookworms? Or that 7 out of 10 adults in Africa read for leisure?
